Biodegradable BBs were designed with the environmentally friendly in mind. These BBs are primarily constructed with an interior chalky mineral that breaks down fast and an exterior shell that is a more durable mineral. Once they are exposed to any combination of elements (soil, water, or light) they begin to breakdown and decompose. Depending on the manufacturer's particular formula, these BBs will begin breakdown in as little as 2 weeks. Some of the more robust formulas take at least 2 months.
