1 point slings are a rather modern take on weapon retention. Typically used with small sub machine guns like the Mp5k, Mp7 or UMP, single point slings are simple and easy to use. Since a single point sling only mounts to the weapon at one location it is best that they mount towards the rear of the gun. Simply clip the sling to your rear mounted sling attachment point and wear like an over the shoulder bag. When the operator drops the weapon, the sling will allow it to dangle freely at his or her side. As of recent, single point slings have become more popular with M4 carbine operators using a stock tube mount attachment point.
