AIRSOFT PRODUCT REVIEWS:

UTG M3245 Sniper Rifle

This post is going to be a bit longer than most, as it will be a full product review. We recently received a sample of the new UTG M3245 spring rifle to review, so we decided to give you an honest perspective on it.

Our first impression of the gun was that it was a Maruzen APS2 clone. The styling of the gun and stock is very similar and there are other internal similarities as well - we'll get to that later on in the review. The body is a rigid plastic and has some heft to it. It is a standard plastic like the UTG shotgun and not fiber like the APS2 stock. The outer barrel and chamber seem to be made of some kind of metal alloy which are thicker in construction than the Super 9. It would be comparable to the APS2 in that regard. The stock velocity is 298 (low) and 308 (high) fps with .20gram bbs.

As you may have noticed, there is a rail underneath with a detachable bipod. The bipod is of lightweight aluminum construction and is included with the gun. It folds up neatly under the barrel and can be adjusted for height.

On top of the gun is an integral rail that is 7 inches long. This should accomidate any size scope you would like to attach. Also, notice the checkering on the stock helps you keep a positive grip on the gun.

Here you see the hop up adjustment slider. This is very similar to a Marui VSR10 rifle. Our technician told me that the hop up chamber is very close in design to the VSR10. We haven't verified that they are compatible, but it may be possible to interchange some of the parts.

Here is a close up of the bolt and safety, You may notice the similarities with the APS2 here. The action is smooth and easy to cock. The cylinder inside cannot be opened. Iit appears to be the same length as an APS2 cylinder, unfortunately the piece that interfaces the bolt is different and not directly compatible. This means you could possibly upgrade your gun if you upgrade both the cylinder and the bolt together. (This has not been verified by us) The trigger is also very close to the APS2 design.

Here is a picture of the magazine, it is very similar to a VSR10 magazine, but slightly shorter. It holds 25 rounds and you get two magazines with each gun.

The stock is totally adjustable with these spacer pads that are included. While the default length of pull may be fine for most people, it can be increased for those with longer arms. This will make holding the gun more comfortable. A rifle sling will also be included with the gun.
