The Tru-Spec PASGT Helmet Cover is a replica of the US Military's Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops helmet Cover. The US Military adopted this helmet in 1985 to replace the venerable M1 helmet that was in use since WWII. The PASGT is still in use by the USAF, but is currently being phased out and replaced by the MICH style helmets which the Army and Marines currently use. There is a debate over which helmet is safer. The PASGT is larger so it provides greater coverage, but the MICH uses newer materials so it is stronger and lighter
