FAQ for Newbies

Airsoft Guns?

Airsoft guns are toy-guns (like paintball guns), but shoot plastic 6mm BBs. It's an alternative to paintball, and great for training use. It's become a new hobby here in the USA. These guns do NOT fire real bullets, nor represent real guns. They cannot be converted into real guns neither. Always wear proper safety gear, before using guns. Read disclaimer above.

What BBs will fit in my gun?

ALL Airsoft Guns use the 6mm plastic BB. NEVER RE-USE BBs IN A GUN. Once they have been fired, they will jam up guns if reused. They do not use the metal "bbs" from airguns. Nor will they fit. 6mm is the size we sell, and will fit all airsoft guns. There is no other size of BB made for airsoft. However, there are different weights (in grams) of BBs. The following chart shows what is used for what gun:

What is the difference between the guns (spring, gas, electric)?

Spring-guns: These are single-shot pistols and rifles, that require a cocking of the slide (or bolt) to chamber a shot. This stored energy, then releases the BB once the trigger is pulled. These are not semiautomatic guns. However, they are very reliable and shoot very far. These are not cheap guns, but highgrade pistols for use in the MILSIM of Airsoft. FPS range is generally around 240 with spring pistols and rifles.
Gas-Guns: A bit more complex than spring-guns. Please refer to our gas-gun care section on how to handle these fine guns. They are true semiauto (and full auto) airsoft guns, which function like the real-deal. Slide-lock on last shot, moving slide per shot, etc... These are very nice and well worth the money. They are powered by a freon (ozone friendly!) gas, that is fed into the magazine. No CO2 is needed! Everything is self contained inside the gun itself, no external rigs needed. FPS range is generally around 250 - 350 depending on the gun. A lot of hobbyists collect gas-guns, over everything else. They are very detailed, and excellent toys to have!
Electric Pistols: These are a true semiautomatic (full auto on the uzi) pistol, that run on AAA batteries. While range is not the best (usually shoot across a room, at most), they are semiauto. Meaning, you can shoot the gun, as fast as you can pull the trigger! But, if you are looking for a long-range gun, refer to a spring-pistol or a gas-gun. These work as an inexpensive alternative to a gas-gun (but lacks range).
Automatic Electic Guns: Tokyo Marui, ICS/Airsoft Elite, and Classic Army! These are top of the line guns for the hardcore enthusiast. Full and semi auto rifles, SMGs, etc... Too much to say on the newbie FAQ here. Cost? $300+ with proper accessories

#1 UHC 92 FS (black or silver) heavyweight

This has been one of our most reliable guns ever! This is a highly recommended pistol, if this is your first gun. Very easy to use and flawless function. It's also very accurate and detailed. Also, a good looking gun even at a short distance. This is also a top selling item and highly recommened for everyone getting into airsoft.

#1 KWC Desert Eagle .50 AE

This is probably THE nicest semiauto gas gun we sell at the store! Loaded with full licensed trademarks, this is an accurate replica of the real thing! The real gun costs upwards of $1200+, while this is much cheaper. Very powerful, can use the TOP gas and red gas. Shoots in excess of 300+ fps. Big, Heavy, and reliable. #1 choice recommened by us! good for the first-time gas gun buyer also.

#2 UHC Spring Guns

Anything made by UHC is going to be a flawless gun for the typical newbie. The Super-9 pro sniper rifle is also an excellent choice for the more hardcore player. It is very accurate and can be used against AEGs effectively. Other guns by UHC include the Desert Eagles we sell, P38, P7, Tombraider USP, etc... These are a good choice from us!

#2 KSC Mac-11 & G18c

Both of these small submachine guns are a must in any collection. Spraying full auto at over 1100 rounds per minute, this is one scary shooting gun! Both mags hold 50 rounds, which don't seem to last long. Each gun is very reliable and an accurate replica of the real thing. For full-auto action, nothing gets better than these! Good for the first time buyer also

#3 KWC Spring Pistols

Ultragrade Desert Eagles, Taurus M9, and the K-99 are also excellent choices for a spring pistol. These are all heavyweight, ultragrade guns. They use the .20 gram BBs, for improved accuracy. The Taurus M9 is the most inexpensive gun we highly recommend.

#3 KWC Gas Blowback guns

KWC makes a fine product. The 92FS, K99, Taurus M9, etc all make for a fine gas-gun. All can take the TOP gas, and shoot very well. Reliable guns, that can see a lot of action. Good for the first-time buyer. The revolver is also a recommended gasnonblowback gun

#4 Big Guns

SPAS-12, 870 shotgun dual package is recommened. Maybe not for the first time buyer, but these are good wall-hangers in the collection. The Super-9 pro sniper rifle is a good gun for accurate shooting. Thompson M1A1 and AK47 by ARII are top of the line spring rifles, very accurate and detailed. Steyr Aug by Maruzen is also good for it's high quality characteristics.

#4 KJW and KSC pistols

The KSC M9 is a flawless gas-gun! highly recommened for the M9 enthusiast.
KJW is a Taiwanese company, making robust gasguns. These guns can take a lot of abuse and keep on ticking. Very powerful guns, with lots of accessories available. These are excellent guns, but not recommened for a first-time buyer. However, if you are comfortable with gas-guns, these are some of the best hobby-guns to play with! highly recommended for gas-gun nuts!
